01About ShareStocks
These terms describe use of ShareStocks, a project based in the United Arab Emirates that provides an interface to explore Stock Tokens and, where enabled, buy, gift, claim, transfer, and sell supported tokens on Robinhood Chain. References to “we” and “us” mean the ShareStocks project. The name does not represent an incorporated company or a licensed financial institution.
By using the service, you agree to these terms to the extent an enforceable agreement can be formed under applicable law. If you disagree, do not use the service. These terms remain a pre-launch draft while marked as such. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
02Who can use the service
You must be at least 18, have legal capacity, and be legally permitted to use the service and the particular token or transaction in your location. A recipient must independently meet these requirements before claiming. A gift does not override restrictions imposed by law, the issuer, or a provider.
Robinhood Stock Tokens have issuer-specific offering and transfer restrictions, including restrictions concerning the United States and U.S. persons and additional jurisdictions. Review the issuer’s current documents and prospectus before transacting. A token appearing in search or a wallet connecting successfully does not establish eligibility.
03What you are gifting
“Stock” in our interface refers to a Stock Token. Robinhood describes these instruments as debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited that provide economic exposure to an underlying asset. Holding a token does not give you direct ownership of the underlying company’s shares or rights against that company. See the official Stock Token documentation.
The issuer’s documents govern token entitlements, adjustments, and restrictions. Token units must not automatically be treated as the same number of underlying shares. ShareStocks does not issue these tokens, guarantee their backing, or promise returns, dividends, voting rights, or redemption.
04Your account and wallet
Sign-in and embedded wallets are provided through Privy; supported login methods may include email, Google, and X. External wallet connections may also be available. Use accurate account information, secure your login and recovery methods, and review every approval and transaction before authorizing it.
Access depends on your wallet and authentication providers. ShareStocks cannot promise recovery of a lost account or wallet. Never share a private key, recovery phrase, password, or sign-in code. Privy’s services are also subject to its user terms.
05Sending and claiming gifts
A gift is funded only after its escrow deposit is confirmed on-chain. Buying tokens and depositing them are separate transactions: if a purchase succeeds but the deposit fails, the purchased tokens remain in your wallet until you deposit or otherwise use them. Review the recipient, token, amount, and expiry before funding.
The service matches an email gift to a verified email identity, and an X gift to the stable X account identifier resolved when the gift is prepared. Enter the correct recipient details. A claim link alone does not establish the right to claim. The current flow provides a link for you to share; it does not automatically send an email or X message.
A matching recipient signs in and requests an authorization bound to their embedded wallet. For new V2 gifts, ShareStocks submits the claim and pays its network gas using a server wallet; recipients do not need ETH to claim. Earlier gifts retain their original contract and claim flow. Claims rely on ShareStocks’ off-chain identity verification and signing service as well as the contract. Service outages, lost signing access, or account-verification problems can prevent a claim before expiry. This is not a fully trustless identity process.
New gifts currently use a 30-day expiry measured from preparation; the funded contract’s timestamp is authoritative. The sender cannot cancel a funded gift before expiry. After expiry, the sender can submit a refund transaction for unclaimed tokens. Refunds are not automatic and return the deposited token amount, not a guaranteed original cash value. Network and swap costs are not refunded. Confirmed claims cannot be recalled.
06Transactions and fees
Purchases and sales use available third-party routes, currently through KyberSwap. ETH and USDG options depend on network support, configuration, and available liquidity. A displayed balance or market price is not a promise that you can trade that amount or obtain that price.
Review the quoted output, minimum received, slippage, token approvals, and transaction details. Routes may expire or become unavailable. Network gas, liquidity-provider fees, and price impact may apply; failed transactions can still consume gas. Buying tokens for a gift adds a 0.5% ShareStocks fee to the entered purchase amount, collected in the payment currency (ETH or USDG) by the swap. The review shows the fee and total before confirmation. This fee is earned when the purchase succeeds and is not refunded if a later gift deposit fails or the gift expires. Gifting tokens already in your wallet does not incur this purchase fee. Claim availability depends on the relayer service, its ETH balance, and network conditions.
Blockchain transactions can be delayed, fail, or be affected by reorganizations. Once finalized, transactions generally cannot be reversed by ShareStocks. Sending to the wrong address, network, or unsupported contract can permanently lose assets.
07Risks and your decisions
Tokens can lose some or all of their value. Risks include volatility, limited liquidity, issuer or counterparty failure, token restrictions, smart-contract vulnerabilities, compromised accounts or signing services, network outages, and assets losing their intended price relationship. Neither an escrow deposit nor an embedded wallet guarantees the safety or value of your assets.
Charts, rankings, prices, and portfolio estimates may be delayed, cached, incomplete, or incorrect. They are informational and are not investment, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or gift a particular asset. You are responsible for your decisions and for determining reporting and tax obligations relating to purchases, gifts, claims, transfers, and sales.
08Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully. Do not commit fraud, impersonate another person, claim gifts intended for someone else, misuse recipient identifiers, harvest personal information, compromise accounts or infrastructure, manipulate transaction verification, or bypass applicable sanctions or issuer restrictions.
Provide recipient information only when you are entitled to use it for a gift. Do not use gifts or claim links for harassment, spam, or deceptive promotions.
09Availability and third parties
Features depend on deployed contracts, provider availability, supported assets, and service configuration. We may change the interface or restrict access for maintenance, security, or legal reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every displayed asset can be purchased, gifted, or sold.
Restricting interface access does not itself reverse a blockchain transaction, transfer ownership to ShareStocks, or change an existing escrow’s on-chain rules. We must address any outstanding service obligations under applicable law. Third-party services have their own terms, and their availability is outside our control.
10Brand and content
ShareStocks branding, interface, and original content belong to their respective owners or licensors. You may use the interface for its intended purposes; these terms do not grant ownership of its branding or content. Token, company, network, and provider names and logos belong to their respective owners.
ShareStocks is an independent project. Displaying Robinhood Chain, Privy, KyberSwap, or a company’s name or logo does not imply that it operates, sponsors, or endorses ShareStocks.
11Responsibility and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the interface and informational content are provided on an “as available” basis, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, profitability, or suitability for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your incorrect instructions or independent third-party failures where the law permits that exclusion.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not remove duties that applicable financial, data-protection, or consumer-protection laws impose on ShareStocks.
12Law and changes to these terms
Subject to any mandatory laws and rights that apply to you, these terms are intended to be governed by the applicable federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes may be brought before a court with lawful jurisdiction. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive rights that cannot be waived.
We will publish changes here with an updated date and provide additional notice where required. Changes apply prospectively; editing this page cannot alter a funded escrow’s contract rules or remove accrued rights. Any new fees or transaction conditions must be presented before the transaction to which they apply.
